Equestrian Portraits
Natalie and Faith
Meet Natalie and Faith, a horse and rider duo from Wynfield Farm in Archer, Florida. We took their portraits on a (as usual) rainy day, that just happened to clear up for their photos (thankfully!). I actually am a fellow Wynfield equestrian so I’ve gotten the opportunity to watch Natalie and Faith together several times. They share a bond like no other and seem to ride effortlessly together, all while Faith leaves her tongue hanging out!
Since I ride at Wynfield, I’ve always wanted to photograph there. Each lesson as I walk to the ring I secretly look for places to photograph. This tree in the main photo is one of those places! I adore this tree and admire it’s beauty each time I walk past it. Come to find out, this tree is actually alive and well. It was burned several decades ago in a house fire. Isn’t it crazy how man-made objects can burn to the ground in minutes, but this beautiful tree held it’s own and is still here to this day?!
This pair was a natural in front of the camera. Faith was a little confused as to what we were doing walking around the farm, so we had to relax her a little by grabbing her bestfriend from the paddock too. Once her friend was there for company Faith was at ease and we were able to really capture her true personality. Also, can we all oh and ah over Natalie’s hair?! This is her natural hair! We had makeup done by Zoey Moore, but I wanted to leave Natalie gorgeous hair natural. Safe to say I’m just a little jealous. We originally had planned two outfits, her show clothes and then a casual outfit, but it seemed that the start aligned when Ella, our trainer, mentioned this white lace dress. Just to see what it looked like we made Natalie try it on. It fit like a glove and really made the photos with the awesome tree that much better!
I hope you all enjoy these photos as much as I do, if you can pick out a favorite, let me know because I’m still struggling!
