Katherine & Kasey | Engagement Photos with Dogs (and a Surprise Proposal!)

What started as a couple + dog photo session turned into so much more.

Katherine and Kasey brought their two beautiful Malinois dogs, Mia and Soka, to their session for what she thought was just a fun photo shoot to celebrate life with their pups. But just a few hours before the session, I got a call from Kasey—he had a surprise planned. He was going to propose.

Together, we staged a moment where I had Katherine turn her back to “adjust a pose.” When she turned around, Kasey was down on one knee, ring in hand. It was perfect. She was completely surprised, and the moment couldn’t have been more genuine or emotional.

After the proposal, we got to shift into full-on engagement session mode—complete with a gorgeous field, big smiles, and of course, their pups front and center. Mia and Soka may not have known exactly what was going on, but they definitely stole the show in the best way.

This session was such a great reminder that the best moments often come when you least expect them. Whether you’re planning a surprise proposal, or just want to document life with your dogs, it’s always worth booking the session.
