I cannot believe that this girl is already a senior! I’m going to be in big trouble when her little sister becomes a senior. I have been photographing Lexi’s family for a few years now. I believe I first started photographing her when she was in 9th or 10th grade. We’ve done everything from family photos, to prom pictures, and sport portraits. Needless to say I’m feeling a little bit old right now!
Since I have been photographing Lexi for so long, it made sense that she would be one of my 2019 Senior Models. Lexi joined my team a few months ago and we completed her senior session earlier this summer. Lexi had an old car for her photos that we had already used once for prom, so it was nice to push me creatively and give her some new material for her senior portraits. If you know me, you know I could spend the entire day with an old car. It’s not because I’m into cars, I actually know nothing about them, I just think they’re amazing props, especially for seniors! We then used some brick buildings as a backdrop for her letterman jacket. Lexi has cheered for years, and also participates in swim and track. We finished at the Suwannee River State Park where the bottom randomly FELL out of the sky. I’m talking cats and dogs! Lexi had her dreams set on photos by the river, so we decided to wait out the storm. We must have sat in the car for 45 minutes before we finally decided to just chance it, and I’m so glad we did! We had so much fun playing in the water, trying to not fall into the river, and splashing through puddles barefoot on our way to the river. At the last moment Lexi asked if we could try for sunset photos. It took us probably 3 minutes to get back to the car because we knew if we were going to get sunset photos, we had to book it! Lexi threw her hair into a braid and we just barely made it to capture a pretty decent sunset. Would you believe me if I told you that I edited out a factory in the background of the sunset photo?
I had such a good time with Lexi during her senior session. I don’t think we stopped laughing and we left with a few inside jokes that I won’t mention here. I can’t wait to photograph the rest of her senior year.
