Senior Beach Portraits
North Florida High School Senior
Sarabeth Adams
Sarabeth had a little bit of everything for her senior portraits, farms, beaches, snakes (yes, I said snakes!). We started her session at her family farm in Jennings. Her family has been farming peanuts for longer than Sarabeth can remember, so it’s always been a big part of her life. It was comical listening to the stories Sarabeth told of having to work on the farm even as a youngster. We fought through tall grass that apparently grew from ant beds to get the perfect photo by a cool tree and walked through the peanut field (which apparently has snakes in it?!). We had a 100% chance of rain that day, but decided to chance it anyways. THIS is why I tell people that I very rarely cancel sessions. It was gorgeous, and actually really hot, for Sarabeth’s farm photos. We had stunning light that I hadn’t seen in weeks, so I’m glad that they decided to bear with me rain or shine.
Next we traveled to St. Augustine to photograph downtown and on the beach. Downtown was packed as usual, but we ran into a few snakes and got “blessed up” by having them in her photos. I cannot believe that Sarabeth actually held the snakes, I’m pretty sure we were both about to cry. I’m terrified of snakes, so just being within proximity of them makes my skin crawl. As I always say “anything for the photo!”. I am not flexible… at all… when Sarabeth started showing off her moves, I think my bones began to ache for her. It’s amazing to me how some people can move so beautiful, stretch so far, and jump so high. Honestly, I can barely touch my toes and Sarabeth can do it 5 foot off the ground while in the air. Unbelievable!
I had such a great time with Sarabeth and her family. I almost forgot to mention that her brother is a videographer at Edge Cinema. He videod parts of Sarabeth’s session and I can’t wait to see what he comes up with at the end of the year for her.
