Prom Photos
Gracee
When the shutdown started a few months ago students got the rest of their school year taken from them. They went on spring break and never went back to school. Gracee reached out to me still wanting prom photos; most girls buy their prom dresses a few months in advance. I am so glad that I was able to give Gracee something special for her junior prom. Nobles Greenhouse in Live Oak was the perfect backdrop for Gracee’s prom photos. Gracee looked stunning in her white gown and it complimented the beautiful flowers that surround the entire greenhouse. Columbia High School decided to reschedule their prom to the middle of July. July in Florida can be ruthless with the high temperatures, so we decided to photograph Gracee early. The day of our scheduled photos there was a small percentage for rain. Of course, it clouded up right when we started, but it gave us a good excuse to take cute umbrella pictures!
Prom photos have always been really fun for me. I always joke with my girls that prom is almost like a little mini-wedding. The girls have beautiful gowns that they spent hours trying on, their hair and makeup is done, and the photos end up looking so elegant. From a photographer’s standpoint, it is kind of close to a mini wedding! It is always important to me that my girls feel like a princess during their prom session—especially since they look like one. We try to not let their dress touch the ground more than necessary, take extra precautions making sure every hair is in place, and take photos showing off the dress that they spent so long picking out. I hear so many say that “prom isn’t worth it”, but to me the photos alone are worth it! Also, how many times do you put that much effort into preparing for a night? Enjoy the experience while you can, ladies!
