Caitlin marks the start of 2019 high school seniors for me, she set the bar high for sure! We both put a lot of effort into planning this portrait session. I had a very specific idea in mind and wanted to photograph some place new. I love little Live Oak, but Florida has so many things to offer, most of which goes unnoticed. After a ton (and I mean a ton!) of research, a photographer friend recommended Apalachicola to me. I’m forever thankful for her because this place is amazing! It also matched Caitlin and her style very well.

We had a very long day on session day. We started hair and makeup with Manning Vaughn at 11 Am in Live Oak, Florida. Then we headed straight to Apalachicola. Luckily, it was overcast so we were able to go ahead and get started when we arrived after our 3 hour trek. Apalachicola has so much to offer, I could probably photograph there every day! We strolled around town, avoided tourists, and tried to not get hit by cars (mostly me) for two-three hours before calling it a day.

Caitlin is such a joy to be around! She giggled on command and was a natural! Caitlin will be graduating in 2019, though she is already committed to the University of Kentucky for swimming. She actively competes as a swimmer and has traveled across the country (recently California, I’m SO jealous!) and even internationally. I think it’s an honor that she has committed to KY so early before graduating. She even swam the morning of our photo session! That much dedication is something to commend to for sure.
