Florida Horse Photographer

Florida equine photographer takes photos of palomino German Riding Pony in Wellington, Florida.

Hey there, fellow equestrians! Today, I’m thrilled to share an equestrian portrait session from earlier this year in the beautiful Wellington, Florida. As a Florida horse photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing the grace and power of these magnificent animals in one of the equestrian world’s most prestigious hubs for several years now. Gianna and Finch were so fun to photograph, not to mention they are both incredibly photogenic!

Wellington: A Horse Lover’s Paradise

Wellington, Florida, is synonymous with equestrian excellence. This charming town is not only a hotbed for horse lovers, but also a dream destination for horse photographers like me. Known as the “Winter Equestrian Capital of the World,” Wellington attracts equestrians from all corners of the globe, making it the perfect backdrop for my equine photography.

The Equestrian Portrait Session

I had the pleasure of working with this stunning palomino German Riding Pony named Finch, and his rider, Gianna. Our location for the shoot was a picturesque equestrian estate with a gorgeous covered arena. I love the palm tree features making it the perfect “Florida” backdrop for this horse and rider portrait session. Timing is everything, so we chose to photograph during the golden hour; aka the magical time just before the sun sets when the lighting is soft and warm creating gorgeous glowing portraits.

Technical Expertise

As a Florida horse photographer, it’s crucial to have the technical skills to work with animals as unpredictable as horses. Patience, a keen eye, and a deep understanding of equine behavior are all essential. You have to be ready to take advantage of those split-second moments that make for captivating photographs. I’m always ready to snap a photo when the horses’ feet are set just right, and the ears go forward. It is also important to keep the horse as comfortable as possible during the session. This might mean staying close to the barn, using areas he regularly rides in, or even using his paddock since it’s his “safe space”.

Conclusion

In conclusion, my equestrian portrait session in Wellington, Florida, as a Florida horse photographer, was a remarkable experience. The combination of stunning natural beauty, a talented rider, and a magnificent horse created the perfect formula for captivating equine portraits. If you’re ever in Wellington, don’t miss the opportunity to witness the equestrian magic the city holds!
